KWRMCC Kids break up review and pictures…

Sunday 7th Dec 2025 was KWRMCC kids annual christmas breakup and the last Club track day for the year.… what a brilliant day it turned out to be for all, with the weather being perfect for riding and a fun family day.

Cr Trudi Paton (brown Jacket) Beau Sharp (KWRMCC President) Mayor Brett Owen (navy Jacket) with junior riders

The kids rode from 9am – 12 md, and adults continued to ride until 3pm as usual.  Lunch was provided from 12 md onwards, with the kids enjoying the jumping castles, fairy floss, popcorn, ice cones, slushies and other amusements.

A special thankyou to our Mayor Brett Owen and Cr Trudi Paton, who kindly gave up their family time by accepting our invitation to attend and supporting our wonderful club. We sincerely thank them not only for what they do for the KWRMCC, but for the community as a whole.

THEN came the BIG moment when Santa arrived on his side-car sleigh, driven by his trusty elf. The kids (and a few adults too) were soooo excited, all gathering around Santa’s ute to hear a wrap up of the year from our Club President (Beau Sharp), presentation of the junior Club award, drawing of the raffle and most importantly… for santa to give each child a gift. Such excitement can be seen in the photo gallery at the end of this post. Photos are courtesy of  Kat Millard – photographer on the day. If you would like pics of the day, or your child with Santa, please contact Kat.. Thanks Kat… some great memories of the day! (katelizabeth.com.au)

The junior Club trophy is awarded annually to a junior member (under 18yo). It was first created in 2008 to  encourage our junior members to be more active in the club, to show /exemplify  the importance of Club and community spirit and responsibility; to develop their riding skills, not just with speed, but also with a good safety technique; their willingness to be a part of the club volunteers overall by contributing to club events; showing respect, resilience, kindness; being a role model for others; showing initiative and going the extra mile when needed….plus much, much more.  Of note the Club had 18 junior volunteers this year, so a big shout of thanks to them. Let’s see if we can raise that number next year!

Toby De Marchi is the well deserved recipient for 2025.  He has exemplified all the  Junior award attributes by his outstanding commitment to the Club over the past year.  Toby not only attended working Bs but also attended as a volunteer sweep rider and general helper on 17 of 20 track openings; he is happy to do anything asked of him to help the Club, always with a big smile.   He can be regularly be seen helping riders of all ages, particularly the little ones. When his name was called, Toby was nowhere to be found!  True to form, he was still patrolling the advanced track where adult riders continued to ride. He had to be called in via radio to receive his very well deserved award. Congrats, well done and thankyou Toby….. you are an outstanding role model for all our junior members!

To finish… (before you enjoy Kat’s picture gallery), some thankyous are in order….

Firstly…. to our tireless volunteers  who attend every 2nd Sunday or on working Bs so the track can open, and also the track committee who work to prepare it. This year we had an average of 20 adult volunteers every track Sunday, with an outstanding 43 volunteers who all chipped in on the day, to make the kids break-up such a great success.  THANKYOU!!!

Secondly… to Cardinia shire for the use of the land at McGregor Road. This is so very much appreciated by our community and those who visit. Without this council support, our Club would cease to exist for young people and grassroot riders who are wanting to learn safe riding skills in a controlled / safe environment. THANKYOU!!!

Hope you enjoy the following photo gallery and memories of the day.. in no particular order!!
