Ian joined the club way back in 1978 as a young 18 year old on the same night as his mate Peter “Wombat” Taylor, amazingly Ian and Peter both obtained Life Membership on the same night many years later in 2004. His two wheeled love affair began on a Taz 50 Mini Bike and continues to this day but the primary reason for joining the club was to compete in Enduro racing and that he did with considerable success. Being an active member, Ian was involved with many club events volunteering his time and a regular at the annual Woods Point weekend and a stylish winner of many Woods Point hillclimb events on many of the bikes he has owned over the years. A couple of other memorable rides, completing the Cape York Croc Run with other KWRMCC members in 1986 and an around Australia ride on his Yamaha TT600. Ian enjoys tinkering with his old vintage bikes and still pulls the helmet on for the odd bush or road ride, only in good weather though !!
